Villa A1

Villa A1 – Architecture Shaped by Rock and Sea

Villa A1 is conceived as a home where architecture grows from the landscape rather than being placed upon it. Set among exposed rock and coastal pines, the house follows the natural formations of the site, allowing the terrain to guide both form and movement. The result is a residence that feels grounded, calm and deeply connected to its surroundings.

The architecture unfolds through low volumes and generous, connected spaces that slowly emerge from the rock. Deep roof overhangs provide shelter and shade, while reinforcing a horizontal expression that anchors the house in the landscape. Materials are chosen for their honesty and durability, drawing their character from the surrounding cliffs and coastal environment.

The home is designed to be both protective and open. Shielded from wind and weather, yet oriented towards the sea and the shifting light, the architecture balances solidity with transparency. Glazed corners dissolve the boundaries between inside and out, while terraces appear to float among the pines, offering places to pause, observe and inhabit the landscape.

Inside, the spaces are defined by light, views and a calm architectural rhythm. Large openings frame the sea as a constant presence, while the sequence of rooms follows the natural topography, creating a sense of movement that mirrors the terrain outside. The atmosphere is quiet and generous, allowing materials, light and proportions to speak without excess.

This is still a sketch. A vision.

But also a hope to bring to life a home that feels inevitable here, in Amundövik.
